I didn't know it did that on the 5D. Are they going to fix it in a firmware upgrade? Have they said?

Sweet. I am planning on getting a DP4 for my mkii. Glad to hear there already is a solution, but I hope that SmallHD makes an easier solution.

It should be noted that this problem lies in the 5d itself not just the small hd monitor. The sync issue also happens with the zacuto z finder and pretty much all external monitors using HDMI. It is because of the resolution change in the 5d's output when hitting record. Nice video though!
