Sung by Nathan Lane, Lewis J. Stradlen, Mark-Linn Baker and Ernie Sabella in the 1996 Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim's original 1962 show 'A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum'.

It tells the bawdy story of a slave named Pseudolus and his attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the girl next door.

  • My parents took me, as a Junior HSer to an early perormance of the show with the original cast. I may not have known much about the theater (and still don't) but this cast can't compare in this, or other numbers, with Zero Mostel, Jack Gilford, David Burns and John Carradine. The ovation went on for mínutes unlike the tepid reception this group garnered. It doesn't seem like much of a showstopper here, while it sure did back then.

  • Down in front!

  • i rlly didnt like the look or acting of that senex

  • Best song in the show. Oh, also it's Stadlen.

  • Best song in the show!

  • One of my favorite songs from the musical. I do think this cast was quite wonderful.

Ernie Sabella and Nathan Lane are quite amazing in whatever roles they choose on stage. :)
