Art. 14 CONTROL OF THE BALL

14.1 Definition

14.1.1 Team control starts when a player of that team is in control of a live ball by holding or dribbling it or has a live ball at his disposal.

14.1.2 Team control continues when:

•A player of that team is in control of a live ball.
•The ball is being passed between team-mates.
14.1.3 Team control ends when: * An opponent gains control. * The ball becomes dead. * The ball has left the player's hand(s) on a shot for a field goal or for a free throw.

ART. 30 BALL RETURNED TO THE BACKCOURT

30.1.2 The ball has been illegally returned to the backcourt when a player of the team in control of the live ball is the last to touch the ball in his frontcourt, after which that player or a team-mate is the first to touch the ball in the backcourt.

This restriction applies to all situations in a team's frontcourt, including throw-ins.

However, it does not apply to a player who jumps from his frontcourt, establishes new team control while still airborne and then lands in his team's backcourt.

ART. 30 BALL RETURNED TO THE BACKCOURT

While airborne, a player retains the same status relative to the floor as where he was last touching the floor before jumping into the air. However, when an airborne player jumps from his frontcourt and gains control of the ball while still airborne, he is the first player on his team to establish team control.

If his momentum then returns him to his backcourt, he is helpless to avoid not returning also with the ball to the backcourt. Therefore if an airborne player establishes a new team control, that player's position relative to the frontcourt/backcourt will not be determined until the player has returned with both feet to the floor.

Violación de balón regresa a la zona de defensa. El equipo blanco tiene el control del balón, el jugador 13 blanco toma el balón en el aire, estando anteriormente en la zona ofensiva y luego cae en la zona defensiva con el balón. En esta situación se cumplen los tres requisitos para que se sancione una violación de balón regresado.

No hay pelota devuelta. Criterios:

1. Tener control del balón.

2. Que ambos pies y el balón hayan estado en pista delantera.

3. Que el equipo sea el último en tocarlo en pista delantera y el primero en pista trasera.

En este caso la condición 3 no se cumple, ya que quien toca por última vez el balón en la zona de ataque del equipo blanco es un jugador del equipo azul, por ende blanco puede tocar el balón en su zona de defensa y habrá un nuevo conteo de 8', pero su cuenta de 24" seguirá.
