peter mattei is phenomenal here
-
the notes from 3:30 to the end are probably some of the best sounds i've ever heard out of a human being. I'm just astonished by the pitch! She sounds like a human Stradivarius... amazing man... just amazing.

@Lilith89ibz I would LOVE to see her performing this.

I can't believe how effortless she makes this sound.
-
@tCrOMez1990 I hope you mean that in a good way lol

Very tasteful and in the period style (although the soprano Rosina...). Especially Mattei gives a very masculine and agile Figaro here. I like!

and peter =)

for the record, I actually like Mariah Carey. ^v^ but Rossini is not the place for it.
-
most soprano Rosinas turn Barbiere into a Mariah Carey act (throwing tasteless, out of place high notes and ornaments everywhere) , but Diana sounds great here.

her high notes are comparible to the explosion of an atomic bomb gigantic and super powerful
Does anyone know which recording this was from and if it's available for sale? (or was this a very fortunately opportune but unofficial recording?)

@xuxjin It was a radio broadcast from the Met in 2006. Legal recording, but unfortunately, not for sale! I still think they should have made a DVD...
