Are you people fucking retarded? Brian Jones obviously was the whole band. What came after his death? Mick dancing around like a fucking anorexic rooster, and Keith trying to look cool while playing a terrible riff, over and over, and over again.God damn talentless attention whores. Fuck the rolling stones, long live Brian Jones

@atticthoughts I certainly love Ronnie, and was a Faces fan. But it never made sense to me to have 2 so similar guitarists in the band. Thanks again for the posts. Keep up the good work.

@atticthoughts Thank you for sharing your precise thought along with this great radio docu!
Thanks for posting.
Although the Stones continued to be a great band after Brian Jones (their best work probably the run of albums which start with "Beggars" and ends with "Goat's Head"), they certainly lost something when they lost him. Never again would we get the textures of Aftermath, etc.
I thought Keith's book a rather mean spirited piece of work, claiming the Stones were originally Stu's band, and that Taylor was dumped because he wasn't a party animal. (Too professional).

@iangordoncraig They really became a different band with Taylor. He's an amazing guitarist but maybe not so much rock n roll as a person. Ronnie is IMHO the perfect Stone in that sense. Great musician, more rock n roll and don't mind to stand back for Keith who is an jealous and bitter bastard at times (I agree about "Life"). I like the 60's Stones better because they were more experimental. The glimmers tried differnt things and they had Brian to bring in new sounds. Great band!

The Rolling Stones really began when Keef and Mick bumped into each other on the Dartford Commuter Rail, make no mistake about it. If they hadn't found Brian, they'd have found somebody else. I think the Glimmers knew Stu and Charlie before Brian did.

@gadflyonthewall001 I know that Keith really want that to be true but it isn't. Little Boy Blue didn't became the Rolling Stones. I haven't come across anything that support that the glimmers knew Stu or Charlie before they saw Brian on stage. They all met that night. Brian started what became Stones together with Stu and worked his a** off to make it happend in the beginning. He deserves credit for that. The glimmers may indeed have found somebody else but it wouldn't have been the Stones.
