Now that we are on politics, Ilirs and Albanians for that matter are very new to the Sharplanina mountain, probably in the last 80 to 100 years. This dog has been on the sharplanina mountain for at least 500 years. And yes, the mountain has been called Sharplanina for at least 500 years. So this my shums is a Shrplaninac dog, every other name is in your dreams.

@alnllc that is because people make them nasty in Macedonia and elswhere in the balkans. people from there abuse the shit out of animals and expect them not to be nasty. any dog can be trained to be friendly or nasty.

Thats so ironic. The Sharplaninac is far from a pure breed. It is a mix of several breeds. C'mon this dog is the biggest in the canine community and most bad ass especially for guarding purposes.

@buddytazzer i had a german belgian shepard mix named duke,also his looks scared people but what a gentle boy he was,big boned great long coat,lost him last july he was 14,sorry you lost ur dog young but we gave them a great life and they protected us.Those caucasian dogs look so good.
