we have reaction just in to our newsroom... from a seattle man arrested after refusing to show his i-d to security agents at the sunport ... and filming the incident. just about an hour ago... an albuquerque jury cleared phil mocek of all charges. "it's been a long time - i feel good that we had police and tsa on record saying that you don't have to show id to fly and that you can use a camera at the airport." phil mocek fad charges including disorderly conduct, and concealing his identity... following the 2009 incident. the defense argued mocek didn't hide his identity... because he had a boarding pass with his name on it.

  • In Judge Napolitano's book, A Nation of Sheep, he describes people as either sheep or wolves. Mr. Mocek, you are a wolf, and we are indebted to you.

I served 7 years in the US Air Force, no combat, but I feel that I owe my freedom to people like you, the real patriots.

  • well no one is required to be a citizen either. "if you give up freedom for security, then you desire neither"

  • "Permanent residents of the United States eighteen years of age or older must carry their valid physical green card itself at all times. Failing to do so would be a violation of the Immigration and Nationality Act, carrying the possibility of a fine up to $100 and/or imprisonment for up to 30 days for each offense." (see the Wiki)

This requirement to carry ID at all times does not, of course, extend to natural born or naturalized citizens.

  • @TakinDecent Did someone claim that his boarding pass was his ID?

  • The TSA is USELESS!!

  • @quetzal785 : Many of those who post on these sites are government bloggers. Their agenda is to ridicule, mock, or belittle those who support American law over that of the totalitarian police state.

  • Obama needs to indefinitely detain this guy for disorderly conduct!

  • @TakinDecent and why would you need identification to travel? You do understand that something like a drivers lisences is just that a "license." Do you need a licence to walk across country? or how about to sit on a boat? and if you are going to throw the terrorists argument at me then you silly stupid. There are plenty of other opprtunites terrorists exploit, it would be stupid to try pulling off something on a plane where everyone is already on alert.

  • Is it time start a boycott of airports yet?

  • @TakinDecent This is America. You don't need to present ID to anyone on command.

  • boarding pass is not ID!!!

you can be named Osama bin Laden and book a flight under the name John Smith and print the boarding pass online
