This was originally the reason for the pursuit of scientific approach to find a reasonable explanation for the facts mentioned below (Main subject here is the knowledge of fighting with empty hands) Conclusion: "As a sport activity Martial Arts aren't real" so only the military men know better this hidden truth. e.g. They'll never smash the opponents throat, break a leg, neck bones or blind a fellow during a sport competition and of course just because It's not a valid strategy.

We have seen several demonstrations in which practitioners of Karate aren't able to win Ju-Jutsu fighters because the first ones don't know what to do after being dropped to the ground. Long after the fight some of them use to tell that they couldn't win without attacking the opponent's vital points.

thats sanchin
Karate cannot be learned in a short amount of time. A bull that walks very slowly will, in due time, travel a thousand miles. In like manner, if you study and practice earnestly each day, in three or four years you will understand what the core of Karate is about. Indeed, the very shape of your bones will change.
It's an excerpt from "The Principles of Karate" by Anko Itosu. (October 1908)

@FXWorldBeater As I explained below. This is the last version taught by Miyagi Sensei prior to his death. You used to see it done this way in the Jundokan dojo and IOGKF dojo. Now mostly the Judokan practice it this way. Search Jundokan Tensho. While u r at it, search both IOGKF & Jundokan Sanchin. The older version of Sanchin with the turns are practiced by both organizations. They primarily perform the last version of Sanchin without turns. So much to learn!! ;-)

interesting... i dunno y he starts with like sanchin? wonder why but i guess its different for black belts. I just wonder how he does the breathing.. its damn cool and amazing the way he tense and relax

@reydar88 This is the last version that Miyagi Sensei taught. Some earlier versions start with the Tensho maneuvers immediately upon stepping with the right foot. There are 2 versions of Sanchin too. The older Higashionna version with turns and the later, Miyagi Sanchin that is straight forward & back. None are 'wrong'. Just enjoy your training. The breathing comes w/ practice.
