Used in the 1993 PBS show, "In the Life". The song describes a Gay Teacher who is so afraid of being out, that he can't be a positive roll model for his gay students.

  • @SubconsciousGatherer On rare occasion, yes. I've heard of gay folks who refused to go to parades because the parades were too queer for them. Most gays don't go around half-clothed, lead each other around on leashes, wear over the top makeup, flog each other, have sex in public, etc. R&P even has a song about that, "What Kind of Self-Respecting Faggot Am I?"

  • AS A GAY TEACHER THIS REALLY GET TO ME, Though now, I am more open, than when I met these men in Tucson back in 1986

  • I ran into these guys in Iowa City back in 1988 and had dinner with them. They were very cool. Too gay? I think back in time that was necessary and brave. Otherwise things would have been much different today.

  • Is there such a thing as "too gay"? Do gays themselves ever say, "No...that's just TOO gay"?

  • Thanks!
