The PIN photo-diode radiation detecting circuit is now built on a printed wired board (23mm x 18mm) and shielded with copper foil. The circuit is driven by two batteries (CR1620) in series for a total of 6 volts. The detecting area (10mm x 10mm) of the photo-diode is also covered with foil. The background noise level is below 50mVp-p.

A schematic diagram is shown in my blog. (sorry but in Japanense)

    Please see below:

Shielding and grounding are very important to prevent unwanted noise

    and self-oscillation.

  • Hi! Could you upload/tell something about electric scheme? I'm wonder what electronic do you use.

  • @iamgoddard

Please see the next clip "PIN photo-diode radiation detecting circuit (part3) ".

    Thank you.

  • It didn't work, right? No response to the sample?
