@ExAxLxPx12 (con't) didn't want to tell her, but George was pissed about that, and she kind of forced it out of him and her parents. She chose to be a boy.

@MyCatlover123 a hermaphrodite is someone who is born with both male and female chromosomes, depending on how developed one is over the other, many parents chose which sex to bring the child up as. In the case of this character, she appeared to be born a girl, they thought that, but what the doctors thought was a cyst on her ovaries turned out to be actually on her testis. Thus, they found out she was born with male organs as well and had the option of choosing to be a boy. Her parents (con't)
