Fashion-Able Haiti is a project organized by the Haitian Embassy in Italy, supported by the City of Rome and sponsored by Belstaff, Stella Jean, Lincoln's New York and Luigi Borbone.

A year after the earthquake that killed 300,000 people, the project aims to help re-launch the economy and the country through the fashion sector. The Haitian Ambassador to Italy, Géri BenoÎt, explains: "What better way is there to get a country back on its feet, maintain the dignity of its citizens and build a new life, than working? With this program, we are creating concrete, long-term jobs while uniting the creativity and know-how of Haitian craftspeople in the fields of tailoring, painting, applying decorative elements with Italy's world-famous design and technology.

The Campaign, which has been captured by the photographer Marco D'Amico, effectively communicates the various meanings and symbolisms of the Haitian culture, which is infused with spirituality, artistic tradition and Caribbean craftsmanship. There are three different images in the campaign, which seeks to raise awareness among Italian fashion labels and encourage them to invest a part of their manufacturing process in Haiti for the American market, taking advantage of the Hope Bill (the tax exemption agreement between the USA and Haiti) and helping the stricken island's economy.

From assistance, to independence to rebirth: this is an important first step.
