This is nice, but the Fee Bee/Dot version, led by Kripp Johnson, is one of the greatest rock 'n' roll songs of all time.

Love this song- such priceless memories- this is the Mercury version- the popular one I remember being played on the radio in fall of '57 was the Dot version featuring Kripps Johnson on vocal. Kripps Johnson was listed as the artist because of his fame following the success of "Whispering Bells".

The Del Vikings are an original basement band.
With roots in Pittsburgh.

the metal clicking in the background is actually a hammer smacking a chisel.

GREAT, GREAT music from my hometown of Pittsburgh. I am soooo fortunate to have live in and thru that great era of music. Fantastic music. Thank for posting.

I also have a different version which is one of my all time favoritest. Have you voted for your all time favorite doo wop song of the fifties? Four categories all black group, all white group, mixed group and duets. I didn't know The Del Vikings had Pittsburg Roots. I had planned on presenting the totals before December 23 2012 when the Mayan Calendar predicts the world will end but I may have found a mistake in the scientists calculations. They may have forgotten next year is a leap year. Duh
