@acappellaworld Context. This tune is approx 300 bpm depending on the chart you have. So that means the lines Don is playing are eighth notes. Listen to any up tempo tunes like this and most players do the same type of phrasing. Even the famous Coltrane recording of this tune is up near 300, and he blows through it non stop. Just my 2 cents worth.

That's some serious picking right there! I hope I get to see some new videos from you soon, they always inspire me to work harder.

Don, this is smokin'. Your right hand technique is really interesting, too--a variation of what most folks call the "Benson" technique. I use this technique, too, for jazz, but I change to a more traditional pick angle/style with string damping for blues, rock, and fusion.

@SPGGuitar251 If Mickey Mantle could hit home runs from both sides of the plate WE guitarists can angle the pick both ways....RIGHT? I mean LEFT? I mean.....

You've probably heard it way too often by now, but I need to tell you that you're an amazing jazz guitarist. I will be doing my fair share of transcribing on this solo for sure. THANK YOU! Greets,
Martin.
