A welcome back to Lynn Barnicle from her students and substitute (Phyllis Stewart), on May 5, 2009, at Arbor Heights Elementary in Seattle, WA (includes Ms. Barnicle speaking after the song)
It has been a while since Ms. Barnicle passed away and I finally had the courage to watch this video. I was in Ms. Barnicle's original class at Arbor Heights in 2001 (I think it was 2001 at least). I used to go back and visit her once she returned to Arbor Heights after the layoff. She helped me through some of the worst times in my life. I visited her right after my first day in high school and still hurts to know that I can't visit her after my first day of college tomorrow. RIP, I miss you.
Its been months since Ms Barnicle died. Watching this video reminds my family of what an impact one person can have on so many others; she brought such joy, wisdom and love to her students and everyone she touched. Thank you Ms Stewart for the wonderful song, for helping the kids express themselves, and to Mr Ahlness for making sure this special moment would always be remembered.
