  • random question.. what did you use to film this?

  • @Tyler9603 Definitely not a potato. lol. jokes aside, Kodak Zi8.

  • @wedginator lol that's a slight upgrade from a potato.. jk the Zi8 is a good camera! I just sold my Zi8 and got a GoPro though. But anyway, thanks for posting this video. I watched it and went outside and changed the pads on my brother's ZX6R. This video helped a ton!

  • @Tyler9603 cheers bud. Glad it helped.

  • Anti sieze instead of Thread locker? - i'm not a big fan of thread locker but i would certainly use it on the brake bolts.

I have exactly the same setup on my 07 Z1000 - gonna be doing this soon - but going to bleed the brakes at the same time. I reckon you should bleed yours too - my oil is about as dark as yours.

  • @Zed100000 Yea, I've gotten mixed reviews about using anti seize. These bolts are so soft, that any extra resistance when taking them off again will strip the head. I've stripped the head many times and the bolts aren't cheap either. I started using anti seize to see if that will work and been doing that for years. So far it's been tight, no bolts backed out.

  • I missed this video from you somehow..... Oh how I wished you had done this video before I done the job..lol. It's not that hard but reference material is always good.

Why do the pads wear unevenly ? Mine were like that as well ?

I was hoping it's nothing major.

Did you break the new pads in with a gradual speed/braking increase method or in any way? (I did it just to be safe) Think some people call it carving the rotors? Anyway nice video !!

  • Nice! This is another good video of yours. You must keep uploading .You are doing it very right. And excellent video quality this time!!It was like watching a movie!!!One thing...i have been told every single time i had mine changed in a shop , to drive carefully for the next few miles or so , so that the pads ""sit"" properly on the brake disks. So that their "faces" meet properly the disks, i mean.Is this correct??Congrats and thank you for uploading.
