Great reception and features on VHS VCR. Only problems are the audio will sometimes go weak on TV reception, and the VCR sometimes cuts out when stopping.

  • When did they come out with front jacks?

  • Don't know.

  • Is that a Stereo TV? Does it have A/V inputs? If it does you could easily use a DVD player or video game system with this set. Given that it was made in 1996, you could use a video game system from that era such as Nintendo 64 or PlayStation.

  • Only mono, but it does have inputs. I'm getting rid of it though, the VCR finally broke for good.

  • haha i remember when everyone had one of those in their bedrooms!

and ya, cutting off analogue TV IS a crime.

  • SPREAD THE WORD. GET MANY TO PROTEST AGAINST THE STOPPING OF ON-AIR ANALOG TELEVISION. Maybe we can make them still use regular TV!

  • i got a video tape recorded in LP speed, the running man recorded from hbo in december 1994.

  • why you want to get rid of this vcr? i always like mono vcrs, and always love vcrs from 80s and 90s.

  • Nice unit. I just got a free Toshiba 13-inch model, circa 2003. Incredible picture quality for a small CRT! The sound quality is a bit crappy, since it's mono, and a small speaker.

  • @Batamon1997 They did starting in 1999. I don't like having the front A/V jacks, I like them better in the rear, less clutter.

  • the fcc isn't cutting off over the air tv in june 2009 they're just converting it to digital. you will still be able to use your vintage shit' you'll just have to go to wal-mart and get adigital to analog converter box, which does not require any special hook-ups you just simply hook the 75 ohm coax "out to tv" jack on the converter box to the vhf "antenna in" jack on your tv (just like hooking up a vcr) and then you connect your indoor or outdoor antenna to"antenna in" jack on the converter box
