A three volume report of the ICRC (Geneva 1947) Red Cross report found no evidence at the camps in Axis occupied Europe of a deliberate policy to exterminate the Jews. In all its 1,600 pages the report does not even mention such a thing as a gas chamber ???. By 1944 most of Germany was already at or near starvation, with disease amongst the civilian population endemic.....typhus was very common. Logistics for food supply were in tatters from allied bombing on German civilian targets and infrastructure. Concentration camps were not exempt and a Red Cross report states that " In the chaotic condition of Germany after the invasion during the final months of the war, the camps received no food supplies at all and starvation took its toll in the camps.

It would seem "The" before "Holocaust" tends to diminish the severity of many holocausts that took place during that era. Perhaps suggesting there was only one or just that the one mentioned was the only one worthy of note. How easily we now forget actions of Stalinist Russia and Imperial Japan . In fact "The Holocaust" deflect attention and proper scrutiny for many acts excused as "acts of war".
