Hmm...not living in big city. It sucks. I now live in a bigger place than where I grew up but I plan on moving to a bigger city when I'm done school. I don't understand people who don't understand why someone would want something beyond the small town life. Re: communities: I believe that communities don't need to be regionally defined. In my mind it's any group of people with a tying bond or similar goals and interests who work together or collaborate in some way.

I think you can win whatever you do. If you want to do something creative and need an audience you can just make one or find one. As easy as that.

Well, as a person who grew up in a rural area, I put forth that quite often the idea of changing the community does not even occur until one has left the community and seen what lies beyond it.

"What is a community?" I think a community is a group of people who, if they don't always work together, will at least interact towards some common good. Whether that good is keeping their small town alive, or a struggling arts scene, the idea of there being some common goal is important, I think.
