Jerry Bornstein, Deputy Chief Librarian at the Newman Library, Baruch College, shares his stories assisting patrons finding information in the library. "...helping students learn how to find information, to evaluate information, and to use information is important not only to help them succeed in school, help them prepare for their future careers, but is also important for society. The whole concept of a democratic society is based on an idea of an informed citizenry", said Professor Bornstein.
I knew Jerry a very long time ago, back in the '70s, and am very sorry to hear about his death, which I just learned about. He was a powerful and gentle person and a good friend. Though we drifted apart and it has been many years since we've seen each other, I am deeply saddened by his death and grateful for the time we spent together, and for this tribute, which gives me a small glimpse into his later life.

He was an excellent professor - enthusiastic, encouraging, and one of those people that made you think. He will be missed.

I loved Professor Bornstein's stories from NBC news to the Library. I am sad to have learned he passed. I will always remember him as a Professor, a Mentor and a Friend. Thank you Professor Bornstein for all the time you dedicated to us students and for being a great professor.
