A Team Fortress 2 Christmas!

A Team Fortress 2 Christmas! A snapshot of Christmas Eve for the BLU team.

Another "machinima" you could say I did today. After getting into another machinima making mood and watching a bunch of GMOD machinima on youtube, I gave it another go. Initially I was messing around with some maps, testing out machinima tools and props, it all started when I loaded this Christmas map, spawned an heavy and a present box, and then it kind of just took over at that point. Filled the map with props and ragdolls, posed em, found some music, went at it. Not the machinima I was expecting to make (initially going to try something comedic) but this just took on it's own life!

Pretty happy with the effect I was able to pull off, I still suck at animating anything in GMOD so the catmull-rom moving camera addon was a life saver, really great natural camera movement. Also this was my first time using something other than WMM, only because WMM Beta on Windows 7 sucked so hard and I couldn't figure out some simple things so Sony Vegas 9 it was. I was surprised at how easy it was to learn, and with some fiddling I managed to get an effect I wasn't even looking for in the first place (the black and white photo shots), really glad I tried it and I'm excited to use Sony Vegas 9 in other projects I work on.

Overall I'm pretty happy with the outcome, more so than anything else I've done. I think it's the really nice camera...

I tried Sony Vegas once, but my pc just can't do it smoothly (I thought it was fairly high-end -_-). Not that I want to complain; proxy video on my current editor is seriously helpful and I've used it for 20+ of my uploaded vids.

Well done though! You captured a good mood, which is rare in most gmod machinimas.
