@osgood54 Alabama was scared of his HS grades and reputation, so they did not pursue him as hard as Auburn. Also, Bo knew that Bear's days at Bama were numbered due to his age. Bo was a bit of a wild one in HS. Stayed in trouble while at McAdory HS, but never had a problem at Auburn. Bama instead went after Bobby Humphrey, who was the safer bet at the time.

Put the Titans' Chris Johnson in the gym for a couple of years, feed him raw meat, put 25 lbs. of muscle on him, and you just might end up with something close to Bo Jackson. Ungodly talent that was brought down WAY before its time.
