  • Have you ever visited a zoo or wildlife part where a number of cockatoos are housed together and heard one say "hello Cocky", another say "Cocky want a scratch?" and another say "pretty cocky" etc. In my book "Caring for Birds with Love and Gratitude" I have pages on choosing a new bird, quarantine, care of new bird, first steps in taming, teaching to talk, introductions and match making, etc in which I discuss general principles as they apply to most pet birds. Watch more of my videos. Ross

  • Hopefully now you will plan to match make it with a healthy compatible mate of same species and opposite sex. See sections on choosing birds, buying birds, care of new bird, taming, quarantine and match-making in my book "Caring for Birds with Love and Gratitude" via my DrRossPerry site.

  • Are the videos helpful? What did you think of them? How could I make them better next time? Do you have any questions? Is your Ecky a male? Can you plan to get him a mate? Dr Ross Perry

  • Awesome video...! I would love to purchase a partner for my male eclectus but am scared from the rumours that they become wild and will stop talking.
