My grandmother (she loved to be called 'Nan' instead because grandmother sounds old lol) used to sing this to me when i was a baby, i remembered the words perfectly and i was only about 1 or 2 years old

Like everyone else here, my mother used to sing this to me when I was a kid. She passed away just before my daughter was born, and I couldn't remember the words. Your version is the best one out there..

Thank you for your post...I sis here with tears rolling down my face...my gran would sing me this song as she tucked me into bed, and it got fainter as she walked down the stairs...she went on to sing it to my children(14,12&4)...she passed last Tuesday and I have been looking for the song for the funeral...you sang it beautifuly...thank you ;*-)
