ASUS' Iain Bristow got dressed especially to preview the uber-powerful ARES card, which is the first 5870 x2! (Or, to be brutal, Radeon5970 done properly!)

  • will all fanboys piss off. Stop bumming the product you bought. Its a loop soon Nvidia will make a better graphics card soon and then Nvidia fanboys will be saying stuff. So just leave it. Both companies are good

Fanboys go in a corner and think about life.

  • @stovnergutt ("Nvidia was the first to introduce GPU's to the market".. ) Wrong again Intel was the first to introduce a Graphic processor Unit.

Nvidia neede 3DFX tech so they bought it.. How they died out was beyong me but I think it was a deal of money made to the owners so they let it go.

The reason i brought up 3Dfx is because your great Nvidia was not always so great till they came out with the Gforce 2 32meg DDR 2 it was the best cardgames like Quake arena and Rogue squadren.

  • @Dorisequador Let me just copy what i read from my books along with Wikipedia: "Nvidia was the first to introduce GPU's to the market".. It's true. Nvidia made the first GPU.. Everyone has been copying Nvidia's first architecture since they made it many, many years ago.. You do know that GTX4xx and 5xx are the only cards that can do up to 128xAA in 4-way SLi (32 on a single and you have the option to multiply it by X amounts of cards) right? 16xAF has been done for years..

  • @stovnergutt well, in the medical feild they use what is the best and runs everything made exactly for them to use to save lives.. which I know Matrox has been making huge sale across canada and the USA, Texas other medical areas...that do heavey surgery's.

Nvidia has always be a copy cat of first cards that arrive on the markey only now cards can do 16x fsaa and 16x aniso at once where Matrox could do both long ago on far lesser systems.

I'm not a fan of Matox but admire they did it first.

  • @Dorisequador Many people still use Matrox because they don't feel the need to upgrade at the time being. But the majority is using the latest Quadros and tesla from Nvidia for that purpose. Not to mention that both Matrox and the quadro + tesla cards costs a fortune. It all boils down to the individuals in charge.. But reviews proves the latest from Nvidia being the best.

  • @Dorisequador Consoles are PC's limited to gaming only.. PC's will always get new hardware therefore being better than consoles. GTX460 is faster and cheaper than 5850.. GTX560 Ti is the best bang for the buck being faster than 6870 and cheaper.. Quadro 5000 and 6000 along with tesla was Nvidia's response to Matrox.. They develop console hardware 1-2 years in advance and new CPU's + GPU's are being released every 6-8 month. So when a new console hit the market it will be outdated..

  • @stovnergutt Sorry dude I work for doctors and they all use Matrox.

Maybe in the states..it's Nvidia lately...

But I think your misinformed.. or fed a lie for Market hype for investors.. which america does alot.

  • @stovnergutt

First PC's are out the door once consols go wirless Keyboard and mouse. (Controlers suck ass)

Nvidia owns the medical and technological research market correct me if i'm wrong but Matrox from Montreal was used in surgery with muti monitors before Nvidia invented the 200 series.

5850 Bang for buch has always been the best gaming graphic card on the market for reasonable price tag with exellent top gun performance.

    I bought the 5870 and i love it. 5970 well a dream !

  • @Dorisequador I'm looking at recent global charts and statistics now. You're wrong.

  • @stovnergutt medical and technological research is owned by matrox man they are the top guns for that not Nvidia..

  • @Dorisequador Nvidia owns 76% of the GPU market. About the entire market for developers and has completely taken over the market for medical and technological research. They have also recently made the first Wireless GPU. Sapphire recently launched a new Mini PC with an Nvidia card!!! Sapphire whom always was there for ATi seems to be changing towards Nvidia. Look at GTX560 TI, best price/Performance ratio on the market. Consoles are PC's don't forget that. PC's will always get new hardware..
