Discovering A Dream: Chapter 13 Part 1

Kevin's POV

I was waiting in disguise on the boardwalk, awaiting Hayley arriving to search for her next clue. Joe and Nick had really gone to town on my outfit. Scooping my hair into a ponytail, exchanging my boots for flip flops, and dressing me in an 'I went to California and all I bought was this stupid T-shirt'. I felt quite the tourist. Hayley turned the corner, and she was in full view of my hiding place. Which happened to be behind a menu in a seafront cafe. She looked amazing. How I wish I could rush up to her right now, but she'd probabley punch me in the face, and call me a weirdo. Maybe she'd recognise me. I pulled the menu closer to my face as I watched her glancing around. I turned my head, and winked, signalling the next step in my plan.

Hayley stumbled and fell to the floor, as a rollerblader crashed right into her. The woman apoligised, and helped Hayley to her feet. She hadn't hurt herself too much, I'd made sure Sarah had being careful. As she skated away, and Hayley straightend herself out, she noticed a note laying on the ground. Jackpot! She peeled it back and read it smiling.

"This final place, was the very first.
We enjoyed italian, and a frozen treat."

Her smile grew bigger, and I guessed she'd figured the riddle without the help of Carson and Riley. About time! She dashed through the crowds, walking right past me, not even noticing. Just like Hayley. Oblivious to the worlds problems, because she was content.

Carson's POV

"That's it." I smiled, after Dad and Blake had carried all my cases downstairs.
"You always did pack light." Dad chuckled. "I'm so excited for you to be joining us." he smiled.
"Me too." I replied.

I honestly was. Mom could have more freedom and I'd still see her. She lived next door to my best friends, I couldn't escape her. But something about starting fresh with Dad and Gaby, gave me a sense of freedom.

"Wait until you see your room." Blake said. "I painted it myself."
"Your an artist?" I asked.
"Not exactly. But I'm quite handy with a paintbrush." he grinned.

We pulled up outside the house and it was your typical suburban house. Porch, garden, tidy street. Basically, like my old house. Except, unlike my old house, their was a young man stood on the front porch.

"Pearson! Where you been?" He chuckled, greeting Blake with a guy handshake.
"Just picking up Carson's things." he answered.
"Ahhh, so this is Carson." he smiled, rushing towards me.
"Uhh, who are you?" I asked, unsure if I should recognise him.
"Carson, this is Austin Holmes. My brother in most senses."
"Besides the fact we aren't blood related." Austin chimed in.
"Nice to meet you Austin." I smiled.

Being this close to him, I could recognise that he was extremely attractive. Tall, dark and handsome. His teeth were perfectly straight and his shirt was tight against his muscles.

"Want help carrying your cases?" he offered.
"Sure." I replied.

Blake and Austin lugged my cases up the stairs and into my room. It was, amazing! Blake had really outdone himself with my wall decoration. It was a skylight view of late night New York, with the statue in the background.

"Blake." I breathed. "It's beautiful." I sighed.
"I thought you'd like it." he grinned.
"Thank you."

I scanned my room and noticed a window seat, looking out onto the street, a laptop set up on a desk, and a large looking wardrobe.

"Nice pad." Austin complimented, while dropping my case onto the floor.
"Well, I'll see you later Carson." Blake said, leaving the room.
"I will deffinetley see you later." Austin grinned, following Blake down the hall and into another room.

Did he just flirt with me? This was weird. My brothers friend liking me, can't say I've ever experienced that before.

I must admit, I have a knack for attracting older guys. I went out with my two friends for a walk yesterday, and one guy asked for my number (he was 19 so my friend wouldn't let me agree) and 2 older guys driving a car waved and honked at me :D SCORE!
Plus, on Saturday, one guy came and stared at my face as I walked past, haha. I don't think they realise I'm 15, and they're all about 20-ish :S
