IF you're looking for a martial art that would aid you if you're attacked, Aikido should be on the AVOID list....next to Tae Kwon Do
Dude! I trained with Nariyama a few times and would srongly advise against anybody trying to attack him...or me for that matter me.Its all about defending yourself against attack

i like yoshu ive been to four enternational tournaments im a two time winner but i also know aikido i started to learn it 7 months ago

@rjthakid Yeah I agree..but after getting to 1st dan black belt of Tae Kwon Do, I didn't feel that it was as effective. I have gotten my black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and now I will begin to learn Aikido in a week

Aikido is a very dangerous art. its the Art that all the Military branches are taught. I prefer it over ju jitsu. Ju jitsu now is so commercialized everyone knows it but no one is any good at it...plus most of the locks in Ju jitsu are crappy renditions from Aikido.

@rjthakid not necessarily true. it mostly just depends on who trains you. or which dojo you go to.

The Point: IF you're looking for a beautiful-looking martial art, with some culture thrown in, Aikido should be on the list of martial arts to pursue, next to Tae Kwon Do.
