Why not just admit that the Patriots should have had it in the bag and could have been on the top of the NFL with the 19-0 undefeated season. The second they make playoffs...they better win them all...and that includes the Super Bowl.

So? The 2000s Patriots had a chance to stamp themselves as the greatest team decade in NFL history and failed to do so because they lost in SBXLII to the Giants.

Tom Brady could've joined Terry Bradshaw and Joe Montana as QBs who went 4-0 in SBs in a single decade. The 16-0 regular season in 2007 is a footnote. All those records set by the Pats in that season are also footnotes.

So what? The 2007 New England Patriots were the third team in NFL history to go 18-1 in a single season just like the 1984 San Francisco 49ers and 1985 Chicago Bears.

However, the 1984 49ers and 1985 Bears are considered to be two of the greatest single season teams in NFL history because they won their Super Bowls to go along with their 18-1 record. The 2007 Pats didn't.

@flip0615 honestly Superbowl 3's upset was SUBSTANTIAL If it wasn't for that the NFL may not be what it is today. There wouldn't even BE a superbowl 42 without the upset of SB 3. You know why? The AFL was finally given the respect they deserve and they merged with the NFL creating 2 separate conferences.
