such a easy mountian. wonder why I see so many vids with people all geared up? I even saw one with people wearing rope.

In 1976 I thought I was on Sneffels south slopes but reached a lower summit. I estimated at 450 feet lower. Map showed 456 feet lower at 13694 feet. The traverse looked like extremely dangerous proposition even for experts. Still a fun day and thirteener climbs are underrated and give more solitude---and more danger if you are alone and get hurt.

I/we rappelled off the summit block into the "log leg" couloir on the north face. It was super STEEEEP jump turns for most of the descent into Blain Basin. You're right, ski gear is heavy!!! Great summit huh?

A dream journey. Inspirational beyond belief. Thanks for filming and posting, from the deepest depths of Detroit.

Yeah - a couple of us were debating lugging skis (not an option for me though since I can't ski a lick). But they decided against it because their packs were too heavy. The descent down the north side of Lavender Col seems like it would make a great easy/moderate ski though.
