A simple demonstration how an "autolocking" carabiner can clip a taut rope. This can happen even if the carabiner isn't moved quickly. The video is a bit deceptive - the whole process happens on less than two inches of rope.
Carabiners with heavily knurled gates are more susceptible to autoclipping, but are easier to use. Keep an eye on all carabiners regardless of their locking mechanism!
If it can work forwards it can work backwards.
