Majiwa charged over cemetery fraud

The assault on official corruption was in progress in the Nairobi law courts as city mayor Geoffrey Majiwa was arraigned to face charges relating to the close to 300 million shillings cemetary scandal. Majiwa, who is the mayor of Nairobi arrived in court in handcuffs to answer charges on a corrupt deal that saw conspirators inflate the cost of land identified as an alternative burial site for the city.

What is the reasoning behind these gaudy jubilation? This lack of understanding of issues by the citizenry is dangerous to economic development. The mayor has been charged of a heinous economic crime, for crying out loud, and supporters are pouring into the street to celebrate his release on bond. Who are they going to blame when they lose a loved one, God forbid, and they get told that their loved one has to share a grave in Langata, because Majiwa ate the money meant for a new cemetery?

Thieves cheered on by poor masses. I mean there must be something very wrong in the heads of some Kenyans. Really, even if Majiwa lala stole, he ate alone while some idiot is busy sleeping hungry in the slum. Then they come out to cheer him. I am ashamed to be Kenyan.
