Ford Focus RS police pursuit!

Ok the title is stretching the truth a little there! What we have here is a recent track day session at Castle Combe (April 24th Performance Action Day @ 4.45pm). The video is taken from an ex-Thames Valley Police patrol car aka the Vauxhall Senator 24v, a firm favourite of the forces in the mid-90s. She has been tuned from 204bhp to just shy of 230bhp, a little weight saving (heavy old barge!), and some Toyo 888s complement the finished article. She's not pretty, indeed that is part of her charm, but great fun and still able to catch the "crims" :P !

So to the video, well I saw the Focus RS in the pit lane queue and having never watched one in action I was keen to take a look. They are cracking cars, the RS purists probably hate Ford for going FWD but the tech shows how fast it can be with 1:25 lap times. It was also great to see one being driven hard, and as soon as it past me on camp corner I was VERY keen to get stuck in. I am pleased to see we kept the RS honest, although the extra mid-range torque was certainly showing when pulling from the slower corners, it took a lot of effort to keep close. Ultimately it was slowly pulling away, and despite the traffic I think we would have lost this one unless a stinger was deployed :D

Have to say I really enjoyed it, fantastic car the RS. Not sure if you noticed us in pursuit mode behind, but you certainly made my session a lot more interesting :)

brilliant video buddy. you have some driving skills for sure. just think he had the better car unfortunately. you gave him something to think about tho in his infinitely more expensive motor lol
