My daughter can knit the top of her hats without using dp needles. She just uses the circular she uses to make the hat. Why the need for dp needles? I find them very difficult to use and have not been able to make anything with dp needles.

Instead of switching to the double end needles, can I use the 32 inch circular needle to make a hat instead of the 16 inch needle?
