Globalization has affected virtually everything around the world. Through cell phones, email, and internet, information and goods can be exchanged within minutes. Some people see it as “Americanizing” everything around the world, but others see the positive improvements globalization has made in the economies and well-being of other countries. A lot of good has come from this spread of mass communication, but what about the negative aspects that come along with it?
The criminal industry- drug trafficking, weapon exchange, and the trafficking of humans- also benefits from globalization. Our documentary focuses on human trafficking, and how much worse it has gotten over the years. Trading humans and using them for sex and labor is becoming easier by the minute. Over 30 million people across the world are victims of human trafficking, and the majority of those cases go unheard of. The idea that being forced into labor and sex only happens to people who deliberatly put themselves into the situation is a common misconception. It can happen to anyone; people get tricked, kidnapped, and bribed into this horrible industry every day. It is referred to as the modern-day slavery, and this term portrays the crime exactly as it should.
Most people do not realize how big of a problem human trafficking has become. Through this documentary, we are trying to make this epidemic known. By showing how big of an impact globalization has had on the criminal industry, maybe we as a society can think of ways to bring it down. We want to raise awareness, and get the message out there that this is a growing problem. And finally, we want to let people know that there ARE ways that they can help contribute to stopping this heart-breaking crime.
I don't necessarily see the correlation to illegal trafficking and globalization. Trafficking was being conducted long before globalization was even a concept so to say that there is a direct link to globalization and trafficking. Now there is a correlation between trafficking and industrialization and capitalism, but since it is globalization it's a stretch to say the least.

When will men see that this too applies to the North American continent? When alcohol and drugs no longer blind the female mind...that's when, and when employment isn't denied to those who are considered dumb or ignorant although they aren't dumb or ignorant - just denied employment for not liking alcohol.

I was denied my recommendation to go to the Ontario College of Art by my mother who said she didn't trust me because my twin sister was on the pill. I then took a government job underwriting health insurance claims. After 4 years, I quit because I dated more than 1 boyfriend in a year and the girls were gossiping at work. I became an employee of a bank doing three jobs and got raped at knifepoint in Vancouver after that I moved to Miami and then back to Toronto & waitressed with a genius IQ-now?
