Yak 52 inverted spin training and aerobatics in Iceland. Gennady Elfimov Russian aerobatic instructor came to Iceland in 2007 and took us in a spin training and more. He also showed us what can be done in a Yak 52. The music is by Icelandic band Ensimi. Song Arpeggiator from 1999.

  • @mypooholeissore That's great. I was just like you, flying straight and level got boring fast, until I got my aerobatic rating at 25. I bought a SU 29, and went on to compete in the national, best I got was 3 rd place. By age 40 I decided to stop the shows and competing, I had 4 crashes and many injuries. Aerobatics are a butt load of fun, I still do a couple here and there in my Yak.

  • Hello! My new short video about our air school :)

  • Yeah, exactly bacause of fuel we use Foxbats not only as training planes for students. We also do the patrol flights to find forest fires around our city and it is very effectively. I mean, you get in the plane in the morning, get off in the evening, and still have some fuel for tomorrow :)

  • @Pastushok24 Yeah, you got it spot on. That looks like some of the Remos' and other LSA's I've seen stateside. The 52 might be a relatively easy airplane to fly, but it's not something I'd stick a student in and it's not as cheap on the fuel like that Foxbat probably is.

  • If I understood your question correctly, no. It is not Yakovlev, as the first plane for young pilots we use Aeropract-22 Foxbat. At least in Krasnoyarsk (UNKL).

  • What can you say about our winter flights? :) Temperature outside is about -25C, but it makes engines more powerfull and we can feel the far cry between density of the hot and cold air :)

  • Lol, Genna took me for a spin when he was based in Wolverhampton. He performed this landing, but not before snap rolling it through the trees on take off!!!!!!! Your head hits the canopy.

The Yak preflight briefing consisted of "if you want to be sick, please pull your t-shirt over your mouth and be sick into it, I'll buy you a new shirt but your sitting over the electronics and that costs thousands!" lol

  • Fine Video, we have a yak 52 too

  • best downwind to final i have ever seen! Be safe
