Where do you guys get these play alongs from?

Don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good. I have had the same impulse, but that isn't the point of youtube. Better to just do a couple of imperfect takes, put up the best one and see how it goes. Your playing is really great. Don't you dare delete this video!!

I dig the hell out of this tune too. Thanks for posting it, you're swinging like crazy.

I've always liked this tune. There are some tricky changes and you make your way around them nicely. I especially like the block chord section. Nice right hand runs at 3:52! I hope you can get your sound balance problems worked-out. Nice post.

Listen to 7note - he speaks from experience. This is a great place to learn and experiment and get feedback. I know I am my own worst critic, but I can learn from my mistakes. I'm having great fun listening to all different styles of playing and it helps me to continue to push myself. Keep posting more great stuff like this.

Hey, thanks guys, I know, I'll try to view it more positively, as you know playing jazz can be a loanly experience and seldom do you get feedback from your playing (at least I don't tend to). Its actually a good motivator to learn new tunes, and try different things out. Anyway, I do really appreciate the feedback, especially as it's coming from two fantastic pianists!

Just listened back to it again and I'm really not happy with the way I play it, lots of fluffed notes and hesitation, I'll give it another go I think, see how that turns out. It is slightly strange recording/videoing jazz performances since the nature of jazz is in the moment. If I had my way, I'd delete everything and do it again, but I won't because its good to see your mistakes and how much I can overplay sometimes.

did you arrange the song yourself?

Hi, well to be honest, there isn't really an arrangement, its just playing over the form of the song. The melody is played pretty much straight ahead as it is on a lead-sheet. Hope that helps...
