The animals in this video are available at Roicy Duhon Animal Control (LACC), 613 W. Pont des Mouton (off north University or I-49 north heading toward Carencro)
Lafayette, LA; Phone: 337-291-5645 (Keep trying and be persistent... they are busy but will get to you.)
NOW OPEN SATURDAYS 10:00 - 2:00 For a current list of available pets, please go to http://www.acadiana.petfinder.com

Everyone is busy getting ready for the holidays but the dogs and cats at Roicy (LACC) are very patiently waiting and hoping not to be left behind.
There are many new dogs dumped like trash in the outside holding pen. These dogs and cats were once loyal family members and deserve so much better.
Please don't forget them.

Lots of cats and some great kittens including the little black kitten that has been held over many times. New cats include a gorgeous young Dilute Calico kitten, 3 green-eyed orange and white kittens, a pretty male Siamese mix, a gray and white Tuxedo, and a Tabby and white with very cool and unusual facial markings.

Poor Max (a Malinois mix) was adopted as a puppy from Roicy only to be dumped AGAIN as he got to be a young adult. Many small dogs including Terrier mixes, Pug, Chi, and Doxie mixes, an itty bitty Rat Terrier, a female Doberman that has recently had pups, a gorgeous young German Shepherd, Heeler mix, and cute wirehair Terrier.

Please look at the photos and see if you can make room for just one. To make sure that these great pets are safe, please come to the shelter before 5 PM on Thursday, Dec. 6th. Thank you for giving these dogs and cats a second chance.

If you are local, please do what you can to save a life. If you are not local, please support either your local no-kill rescues who save from facilities like this, or find out which no-kill rescues save from LACC and help support them. While Acadiana Humane Society and Cat Ranch is a no-kill animal rescue, LACC is not. We do what we can to help save them. To find out who else helps save from LACC, please check out the rescue groups listed on this webpage: http://www.mycatranch.com/roicy Thank you!

  • poor animals. we bought our dog from fido(forening for omplasering av hunder). a place where animals whith out a family can stay until they get a new one. we don't know anything about what happend to our dog befoure we got her. we just know that the police had found her, and that's it. the peoples who work there are NOT paied for their work.

  • Glad to hear you adopted your dog from a rescue!

We are all volunteers too. None of us get paid. We do not work at the animal control facility where the animals in this video are from. We just go in, take photos, make videos, send out email pleas, and try to save as many of them as we can. Our rescue has peronally pulled out hundreds of animals, mostly cats, some dogs, and four guinea pigs and saved them from the animal control.

  • every time i watch these i cry.... ADOPT PEOPLE ADOPT!!!!

  • Thanks for watching, and for caring enough to be moved to tears. If this touched you, then you have a heart for animals and others. Bless you!

  • hey thats great news! I work for a shelter on Long Island, Bideawee, in Wantagh. Go to my page, link is there. I mean, I'm nobody special here, not making any promises. (cats too, atleast from the locals, brooklyn animal and control town of hempstead shelter..just wondering. Unless if you tried already.

  • Thank you! I sent your rescue's information to some of the other volunteers to see if they knew if anyone had contacted them. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • I volunteer for an animal rescue group in Pa. We are a non profit organization as most organizations. Volunteers are desperatly needed for all organizations country wide. If you are unable to spare extra time, donations are always helpful. If you saw an animal confined to a cage you would understand. I tip my hat to all the volunteers country wide Who donate thier spare time to the welfare of these needy animals.

  • Poor animals, love animals. Please help them,

    they are our best friends!
