Film like this were idealistic even in those days, that's why they're nice to watch. It's nice to have more "realistic" films nowadays, but a few happy films like this would be good too

Pipe the fuck down. No-one said anything about extended families.. What the person probably meant is like the happy family, fun, songs, stuff thats nice to watch etc. Also the family in these films don't necessarily have to live together to have a nice relationship

WTF is wrong with you ? This movie is 2 decades old. The concept of joint families in India has dwindled down to near zero. With globalization and jobs available not just abroad but in other states, only nuclear families are possible - and even if there was a chance of a joint family... we as Indians are not that adjusting as we were 2 decades back... we would go out and live as nuclear families in the same city. It is one thing to appreciate old movies but to expect them now is fucking stupid.
