How to Lower lag! in Team Fortress 2

-dxlevel 80 +mat_antialias 0 ive been messing around and i found out how to reduce alot of lag in tf2 not all computer work for tf2 so dont expect this to work if you have a crapy computer

READ THIS the code he put in means that it will lower direct x to version 8 since default is direct x 9 and dx9 works better on decent pc's. LIKE SO PEOPLE CAN SEE

omg i dont want DX8 my pc is more then enough for this game (quadcore & hd 5850) but it laggs like hell (20-40 fps ingame!) it doesent matter if i change the graphics settings.. any help ?
