I just got my new Ludwig 5 piece Classic Maple drum set and I made a video of me playing them for the first time. This is the exact same type of kit that John Bonham of Led Zeppelin used. The sizes are:

14" x 26" - Bass Drum
16" x 18" - Floor Tom
16" x 16" - Floor Tom
12" x 14" - Tom
6.5" x 14" - Supraphonic (LM 402 Metal Snare Drum)

I got the shell kit, which is L8264LX through Ludwig at DrumsEtc.com

But, after a good drum session my splash cymbal finally cracked in half (it is a Zildjian, and they suck). My other cymbal, that's above my hi hat is a Sabian B8 ride/crash, which is already cracked in half (Sabian's really suck).

My ride cymbal is a 24" Paiste 2002 cymbal, and so far no cracks in it! That's why Bonham picked the best - Paiste. Now I need to buy a couple 2002 Paiste crashes to replace them, and a Sound Edge hit hat to replace the one I have now.

The drum sticks I use are Vic Firth's American Classic - Rock. They usually only last a couple weeks before breaking.

Ahhh, being a drummer, the most expensive instrument to play. It doesn't help that it's also the only one that you hit. Hard.

  • Where did you buy this?

  • @NnizZzenN I got it from Drums Etc (they have a website, just google it). If you go to their site and type in L8264LM into the search box, then it will come up.

If you order through that company, Drums Etc, they'll get it directly, hand built, from Ludwig. It will take a couple months to receive it, because they have to build the custom order, but it's well worth the wait!

  • how are you mounting that tom tom?

  • with a snare stand

  • what the hell happeneed to your crash cymbal? And I am sorry but you should redo this with 2 camera men instead of one guy jumping all over the place.Otherwise you sounded good.

  • Thanks, yes I will be doing a new video soon with multiple cameras on tripods to showcase my newest set up - This set with all new 2002 series Paiste cymbals!
