HORACE ANDY - Cuss Cuss - reggae dub dancehall roots Wackies

A track taken from Horace Andy's 1983 album Dance Hall Style. The track itself is called "Cuss Cuss" and is in extended discomix format - tune into dub. This tune features the weird and fragmented - almost industrial - Wackie's sound and at one point (just around the 3:15 mark) it sounds like the whole thing is going to disintegrate before your very ears.

True hardcore stylee going down in this album - deadly tunes. Money money is superb too.

Everything is so rough it sounds like its been through a cement mixer. The bass growls and the guitars shimmer and the drums make noise like they are being shattered to bits. And Horace just floats above the swirling noise singing like a sweet nightingale flying above the deconstructing soundscapes. Ta.

There's something about Wackies artwork for their LP's that so punk rock. A real DIY aesthetic that totally fits the music, I love it.
