Artists making beautiful music together in honor of Fauré's 150th Birthday. New York Times critic Kenneth Furie says this about the performance:
"The high point came after intermission, when the First Piano Quartet (Op. 15) was played by the violinist Curtis Macomber, of Speculum Musicae; the violist Maureen Gallagher, of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and Speculum; Jerry Grossman, principal cellist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and Ms. [Evelyne] Crochet. The players had mastered the rhythmic quirks of the quartet's melodic material, and the massed string sound was irresistibly vibrant."
very rousing and superbly rendered - the quartet plays like they share one breath!
