in 1964 a wee scots Lass named Marie McDonald McLaughlin Lawrie ( Lulu ) burst onto our airwaves with Shout her first single many followed right up to present time , this "Leave a Little love " was her third single reaching number 8 in the charts in 1965

Lulu was about 15/16 years old here. Check out Best of Both Worlds which she recorded when she was 18/19 - it demonstrates a big improvement in technique and skill.

As for world's greatest singer? Music isn't sport - ultimately it's down to personal taste.

And what has the length of the song got to with it? It's a standard-length pop song...

@keeshond8 Years ago a friend of mine imparted an interesting theory about the marketing success involving Lulu and Sandy Shaw. He said that Lulu was the Dusty Springfield sound promoted towards men who liked short girls, and Sandy Shaw was the Dusty Springfield sound promoted toward men who liked tall girls. Sounds weird? Listen to both of them, observe, and think it over.
