Both cello concertos are my favourite for the instrument - and amongst the best for any instrument (I'm a pianist). But I'm more fascinated by the second and have returned to it regularly over the past 15 years or so since I first got to know it. Definitely needs to be played more regularly...

This surpasses the 1st concerto by a long way, it reeks of death and despair, I love it.

@wjsm5 of course it is, i have read the 2 concertos, and is really more complex, to the orchestra 2.
