From Mayobridge, Co. Antrim, Darren and Donna McGee play a set of reels on fiddle and banjo, respectively. The reels are: "The Maids of Castlebar" and "Seán Reid's", also known as "Gilbert Clancy's".

  • great

  • nice one! played at a good pace too - not too fast

  • Sweet! Nicely done!

  • Reely nice. Take no notice of the tempo-shifters ! The acoustics of the room were a pity, you need more soft furnishings to stop the unpleasant reverb effects. It's odd, because if the room is a bit long one way, and hard walls the effect sounds ok

beyond my comprehension - but true !

  • Mayobridge Co Antrim? I wouldn't expect CCE to make a mistake, but the only Mayobridge I've heard of is in Co Down.

  • well played, and I don't believe it needs to be faster at all.

really interesting settings of both tunes, I've always played them slightly differently but this inspires me to pick up your version especially Sean Reid's. Kudos to both of you and I hope my two kids are playing as well at your age.
