I made this video to show the versatility of this incredible amp. Dean Baker Act pickups, Mesa Recto 4x12 with Celestion V30s, no effects. The clean section has the gain very low, the dirty section has a relatively high gain setting, and "The Beast" section has the Kerry King built-in overdrive/noise gate engaged. Enjoy!

  • Thanks dude for playing cleaner sounds. I just ordered one on ebay, ( i do hate doing that), but the one thing I wanted to know is how this amp cleans up. There are a ton of gain reviews, but not one nearly as well balanced.

  • @BleedBlsSdmf I appreciate the compliments! Not many people realize the true clean and lower gain potential of this amp but it is a real monster. Hope you enjoy yours!

  • @MehdiGlz Must be the guys playing it. Kerry is a thrash metal guitarist to the core, so naturally, his signature amp would be capable of satisfying his needs for his kind of playing.

Not to mention - you can get a great tone from any amp for the music you want to play, it's all in your hands, man!

  • I was thinking of buying one in the future, but on all the videos I've seen, never a good distorsion for thrash is achieved, is it the guys playing or the amp?

  • @lute760

They didn't sound like shit at all. When boosted they are the best amps for metal I have heard, better than horrid mesa boogie and a lot cheaper.

  • @Gonzoidzz Yeah the early 80s 2203 sounded like shit,so did the lead series. This one's modeled after the highly sought after late 80s models.

  • @lute760

I wasn't talking about this amp, I was talking about the original 2204/2203. They don't have the BS gain stages they added to the later 900's and 2000's, or this amp, so an external gain stage, I.E a pedal of choice, is required for leads and bone crunching riffs.

  • @Gonzoidzz A tube screamer? Why would you want to ruin the tone of a great all tube amp like this by coloring it with a pedal that was designed to "copy" the sound of a great tube amp? Unless your intent is to use it as a lead boost, but then this amp already has a setting that does exactly that without the need for a stomp box.

  • get an original 800 and run it with a tube screamer, better than this.

  • i am soo undecided i dont know if i should buy a 2203kk or a triple rec? can you please help me decide? i love slayer i love megadeth, i love carcass, and emperor but dont know if i should get either the triple rec by mesa or the 2203k by marshall? some of my guitars are ibanez RGA8 and Jackson DKMGT with emg 81 and 85 and another jackson with dimebucker. i really dont want to buy something and later regreat why didnt i get the otherone thanx all for the help

  • @abrahamflako11 totally agree it is the best amp i have ever heard

it definetly blows this and a rectifier out of the water

i sold a diezel vh4 for my mark v (yes a massive gamble)

but the mark v kicks its arse in everyway
