@jkkmobile if you switch display panning off in Windows 7 you get 1024x768 resolution not sure if this option will be in the registry in Windows 8

@HGEMAIL I trust there will be plenty of hacks for this in future.. lets just hope MS drops these restrictions..

Hi JKK, we found that if you connect an external display, launch the Metro app, and go back to the tablet display you'll be able to use the apps!
It seems that they just check that the res is bigger than 1024x600 when the app is launched, but the apps can work also in that resolution
