This clip doesn't show it well enough, but Bear can really take some pressure.. Nice Dog! THX Mark for bringing him down to play!

  • sl429 I would like to know if I may , how tall is bear at the shoulder and what is his weight.

  • U.S military used these dogs as their kill dogs in Vietnam and German Sheppards as scout dogs ....very very loyal, very smart (most all terriers are) and can be very deadly.

  • @sl429 they are very loving and good family dogs but at the same time very protective of there family. i have 2 airedales both male and they extremely protective unless told otherwise. over all great dog

  • these dogs live very long too... mine is going on 15 years, and is still in perfect health

  • Is this typical of most airedales or should one look for certain breeders that aim for this temperment?

  • Badass. First time I saw that.

  • Unfortunately ,I don't think many of the guys using the mals or gsd's know how to work a terrier. Terrier is not as apt to just go along with the program like a mal will. However when you get a dale that's been properly schooled you have one hell of a good dog. Typical of the terriers. Once they get it there's npt much that'll stop em.

  • How true. Long before German Shepherds Airedale Terriers were patroling the streets of some rather dangerous places. The bite of an Airedale is just as powerful as that of a pitbull. The only true drawback of using an Airedale in police work is the fact they are first and foremost a "people friendly" breed.

  • It's a shame Airedales aren't in greater use as K-9s. They're so damn good at it! I mean, hello, it's a great big giant TERRIER. It doesn't get much smarter or drivier than that!

  • good dog
