This video shows the idea of Rational Swarms for Global Optimization. Each agent (here the wolf) is trying to find and stay with a local maximum (here each top of hill where the food source is) while trying to avoid going to the same local maximum that has already been occupied by others. After finding an unoccupied food source, i.e. the rabbit, each wolf will mark its territory by peeing all over the hill to make it no interest to others but still allowing others to go through it. And finally, it is expected that one of the wolves will find a local maximum that is or close to the global maximum of the whole searching area.-- cooperated with Dept. of Systems & Information Engineering, University of Virginia
