The engines are made in Indianapolis, Indiana. AE stands for Allison Engine. Rolls-Royce now owns this former General Motors Company. The company was begun by a playboy with old money named James Allison. He died in 1929, and GM bought the company because of the phenomenal bearing technology developed by Allison Engineering on Main Street, Speedway, Indiana
